Listening to Carol Annesser’s story of her grandmother, I wondered how to sum up a life well-lived. Her grandmother was a nurse, one in a long line of nurses, and she cared for her patients and her family all her life. As Carol said, “she did what she needed to do.” I loved her image of her grandmother’s starched uniform standing up on its own, and so used that as the frame for the collage of images that honor what I heard as the themes of her grandmother’s life.
