Story from Mohammed Alabbas

My visualization of Mohammed Alabbas’s story about Malala Yousafzai symbolically shows her strength and determination in the face of unfathomable opposition. I chose to use flowers overcoming a rifle to show how she turned a great tragedy into a movement that continues to grow today. Her hand on the book is meant to represent the embracing of global education without oppression. I also chose to combine my graphic design background with my traditional art training to create a merging of creative disciplines that really challenged me to honor her story. I hope that you enjoy Mohammad and my interpretation of Malala’s inspiring story.
