My chair comes from the story of Ida Cardenas and the importance of learning sign language. Communication combines complex forms. Sign language is a very beautiful form of communication so capturing the fluidity and motion each sign represents was important. The curvilinear lines are an abstraction of an ear, but they also show movement and can be interpreted as sound and motion.
